A classic northern style Rhone blend, in the style of Cote Rotie - Syrah with a little touch of Viognier. Ripe blackberries and dark plums with toasted spices and meaty elements. The palate has such richness and exotic, powerful tannins carry ripe dark plums and berries through the long finish.

Laden with mocha, oak, cherries and notes of brooding undergrowth. An Amarone in all but name.
2022 Petrolo Torrione Super Tuscan Tuscany (Italy RP94) $75
As classically Super Tuscan as they come, with a nose that mixes ripe black cherries, wild berries, and crushed violets with hints of tobacco, cedar, and warm spice. The palate is full of juicy fruit underpinned by a seductive earthiness and tannins. Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
2020 G.D. Vajra Barolo Albe Piedmonte (Italy WA94 WS94) $85
The nose is ripe with fresh, layered notes of pure red cherries, fresh flowers, anise, and refined spices. The palate is fantastic and pure, with deep notes off dark berries and with a long, long finish, closing with silky, accessible tannins. A Barolo drinking well above its pay grade.
Poliziano Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano (Tuscany, IT JS92 WE92) $63
Floral and earthy aromas, with dark chocolate and some plush spices. Flavors of plums, blackberries and black pepper follow through to a medium to full-bodied palate. This is firm and long. 85 percent Sangiovese.
2021 Vietti Perbacco Nebbiolo (Piedmonte, Italy WE93) $57
Crushed owers, red fruit, chalk, mint, white pepper and orange peel give this rich, textured red notable aromatic brightness and presence. A serious wine – far from an easygoing Langhe Nebbiolo.
